Paying it Forward.....

Have you ever done something, just to make others happy.  To have no other alternate reason.

I have and it really is a great feeling.  Lately it seems that I am finding more and more ways to help out others.  Now there is a small personal reason, and it's just to clean out the house.  But it's more because I can no longer use the items, or someone else needs more than me.

Just this week alone, I had 2 double strollers and they have both found new homes.  The one lady I didn't realize just how much they needed it.  She was going to purchase it from me, and emailed about their circumstances and that it would be another week at least.

Well, here it is taking up space, and I don't use it.  I am going to just drop it off to her this weekend.  Really she needs it and I don't.

I also made this super cute dress for a friend.

My husband and I set up her and her husband.  He is over in Afghanistan.  He is supposed to be home by Thanksgiving.  They had a little girl in April and he has only seen her by skype.

She asked me several weeks ago, to make something for her.   She had been looking at different sites and didn't want to spend the $70-$100 for a dress.  It was all day to make since she came over with the baby, and we had to start and stop a lot during the process of making, but it really will be super cute on her.  I can't wait to see her in this beautiful dress.

This little bear was made for a special little girl as well.  As can be told as by the pink.  The little girl is 10 months old and had surgery on her spine the other day.  With the surgery she had, no one can pick her up or touch her yet.  I dropped this off and I am sure she is loving it.

What have you done for others recently.

  3. OH, goodness! That dress is darling.
Me? I haven't done a whole lot lately. I haven't left the house in a few days, but last time I went to town, I bought a lady at church a few baby things since she just had twin girls. :) She was excited for the gifts, but really, I just needed an excuse to go over and see those precious little babies. :)

  4. I had a contest and one of the comments I got really stood out. It was from someone who was going through a hard time and why they really wanted the prize. They didn't win, but the post hit me in a way that I sent them a prize as well. I always donate all my sons things to families with foster kids as well as shop for them, I know one family that has 9 kids and their house looks like it is going to fall down when I pull up, but it is filled with love and the kids are happy! It is so easy to do for others and it feels so good to do it. Glad I am not the only one!

  10. The dress looks like little angel wings how adorable. Please thank your friend for me I know what it is like to be holding down the fort with in my case it was 7 including newborn Twins at the time when my husband was gone to Iraq. Anything special you can do for her like that will be appreciated so much more than you think. especially if she is not near an army base where she can have support of a Military family she needs you a lot right now I am sure.

  12. I have always loved the concept of paying it forward. I'm also a firm believer in the fact that you will receive what you give freely, in abundance :D Adorable dress & bear.
