My daughter didn't want anything with carrying. But it may also be, because I didn't know much I saw the classic "crotch danglers" in the store, and never thought they looked comfortable. But then with just me and her during the day, I could do things when she was sleeping, no problem.
Fast forward to my son, well he had to be worn all the time. He started with ear infections at the age of 3 months. He was getting them at least once a month. And any parent that has gone through and ear infection knows how little sleep you get. I tried just laying on the couch with him, or more of sitting up. But he wouldn't have it. He was the child that when sick I wasn't allowed to sit down. I walked the house for 2 nights straight before the antibiotics would start working enough so he could sleep. Someone had mentioned a stroller, but our house isn't layed out to push one in the house.
So I started learning about carrying. My son absolutely loves it. He will go in his room and grab which ever type of carrier he wants, and brings it to me. We take walks a lot. During out walks he likes to be worn but he also likes to walk. I have found that some carriers are better than others for different uses.
I have several I am testing out this month and writing about. Be on the lookout for them. Some also have giveaways attached.
We used a sling and I loved it. My kids were always very comfortable and I coul ddo things around the house while they slept.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to be able to carry Matthew but he was SOOO heavy lol
ReplyDeleteI used the carrying pouch, but my back is pretty messed up it put too much pressure on it. I prefer to have the babies in the stroller
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about the carriers with my first baby but by the time I had 3 under 5, I was a master at one on the back, one on the front and one holding my hands lol Great memories!
ReplyDeleteWhen my daughter was small, I had not heard of this. She is 15 now, but if I were to have another baby, I would definitely be interested in this. Thanks for sharing your story. :)
