Master's of the Veil

Life can't get much better for Sam Lock. Popular, good-looking, and with a future as a professional football player. every guy at Stanton High School wishes he were Sam. That is, until his championship football game, when Sam accidentally links with an ancient source of energy known as the Veil and reveals his potential to become a powerful sorcerer. Sam is whisked off to Atlas Crown, a community of sorcerers who utilize the Veil as a part of everyday life. Once there, he trains beside a mute boy who speaks through music, an eternal sage who's the eyes and ears of the Veil, and a beautiful girl who's pretty sure Sam's an idiot. As it becomes clear Sam's meant for power magic-the most feared and misunderstood form of sorcery-people beyond Atlas Crown learn of his dangerous potential. An exiled group of power sorcerers are eager to recruit Sam, believing that he is destined to help them achieve their long-held goal. If they succeed, they could bring about the downfall of not only Atlas Crown. but all humankind.

Author Daniel A. Cohen
Daniel A. Cohen was just your average business student. Microeconomics, finance, marketing… you name it, he had to do a PowerPoint presentation on it. One dark and stormy night, he was bitten by the radioactive realization that memorizing business jargon could possibly be the most boring activity known to man.
After gaining eagle-eye vision, abs that could grate cheese, and a talent for imagining things (including his cheese-grating abs), he wrote his first novel and began his epic battle against the formidable business jargon. He continues to fight the good fight by playing saxophone and writing YA fantasy, forever hoping his Veil trilogy will help inspire others to join his cause.

Momaholic----book review
We all can go to the self help section and read all these books that tell us what to do, and not to do. This is NOT that book. This is a book about the author, and her family. But it's not sugar coated. She tells the good, the bad, AND the ugly. It makes you stop and think. are you a helicopter parent.
This book is great for moms and dads. Since both sides can be that way.
She takes her own troubles and talks about how they got through some things. Some of the sections, i wish were longer and had more in depth, but at the same time, I know tht would require a LOT more book.

Dena Designs Good Thing Mug & Umbrella Set. review
I was so excited about this review and giveaway. I received these in the mail and they were just so spring like. The colors are such soft tones. I do love how the umbrella matches the mug.
I opened this up and immediately had to wash it and make some tea. I love how the bottom of the mug has a butterfly on it. So as I was drinking it was like a hidden surprise at the bottom.
This made me smile. Of course it also meant I had to go and get a new cup of tea, but that was ok. My daughter definitely liked this as well. She helped me drink my tea so she could find the butterfly.
Both the cup and the umbrella do you have inspirational sayings on them as well. What I did like about that was I could sit and reflect on things in my day. I have found that I don't always take enough time to reflect on things, and this was one way it helps me. When I am sitting outside just enjoying my tea, and read it, I do take a few minutes.
When I opened the umbrella the first thing my daughter did was claim it. She is just 4 but loves the colors. It is a bit big for her though. And wouldn't you know, about an hour after I opened it, I had to go out and it was raining. So of course I grabbed it. I did love how big it is. I was able to be under with my 2 kids and not get all wet. One I was carrying, but we all fit.
So I would definitely get this for someone. This is on my list of items for christmas already.
NOW do you want to win one for yourself.

Skinny water....
Here's the skinny:
I have never been keen on drinking energy drinks, diet drinks, or anything along those lines. It's not that I am protesting against them, it's just that every time I decide to give it a try, it is always a disappointment in the flavor department. Honestly, they all taste like watered down juice to me. Nice try.
As many times as I have been disappointed, I have still kept on with my search for the right sports drink that I can truly enjoy. I don't drink soda so my sweet go-to thirst quencher is juice. Although it is a better alternative, the amount of sugar that juice contains is still rather high. If there is a diet/sports drink that can offer me some flavors I can enjoy minus the sugars and calories, I would stock up on it as if there's going to be an apocalypse. No lie.
Just as I have exhausted myself in the search to find the right drink, a great acquaintance of whom I have been so blessed to meet, directed me to another lady who was looking for people to try out their new line of sport water. Excited yet skeptical, I shot out an email with the request to try it. Immediately, I got an answer back with an enthusiastic communications director who didn't hesitate to allow me to give it a try. A week later, a big box of sports drinks landed on my door step and the 5 year old in me jumped on it like it was a gift on Christmas day.
Honestly, I don't really know what happened next. I believe it went like this:
My husband helped me open the box and upon making it's presence known to me, these sport waters seemed to have sung a melody as I nudged away the lid of the box so I can get a better look at it. I delved in and the first bottle I picked up, with all its slenderness and lure of a luxurious treat, said on its label,

Whitney Farms®: Continue to feed, nurture and enhance your love of gardening
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Whitney Farms for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am a Huge gardener. We plant and can a lot of vegetables. I also have several flower beds all around the house. I like to keep things as organic as possible. I know there are so many great ways to kill what you don't want around using pesticides and such, but I don't want to eat that. So I do look how to organically grow my garden. Saying this, I am Super excited about Whitney Farms®

I do have access to horse and cow manure. I do like using it for my fertilizer. BUT the problem is it does smell. Plus it does have to burn off everything for a year, otherwise, it can kill your garden. So for me Whitney Farms® seems to be a GREAT alternative. They offer a large variety of foods. They have for just about any type of vegetable or plant that you would need.
And they are made by Scott's and that is definitely a plus for me. I already trust them with my lawn, so of course I can trust them with my flowers and in my garden. I have used the regular types of plant foods in the past. I have tried to avoid them when possible though. I have done it in the years I haven't had a lot of manure or my compost pile isn't as plentiful as I like it. I do not like chemicals and a lot of the conventional methods are chemicals in them. So then I know whatever I spray on the plant I am eating. I definatly prefer the organic plant food for all my plants.
I am hoping my garden can look like this. Nice and healthy. I am sure with Whitney Farms organic soil , it should have no issue. We haven't planted our garden quite yet. That will be in the plans in the next 2 weeks. I am excited every year at this time though. And more so this year, as we have had a crazy spring, and I know most of the fruit I get every year the prices will be high. So I will have to can as many veggies as possible to help save on that cost. Now if you are interested in trying Whitney Farms at all, make sure to print your $3 coupon.

The Rock of Ivanore
The annual Great Quest is about to be announced in Quendel, a task that will determine the future of Marcus and the other boys from the village who are coming of age. The wizard Zyll commands them to find the Rock of Ivanore, but he doesn't tell them what the Rock is exactly or where it can be found. Marcus must reach dee p within himself to develop new powers of magic and find the strength to survive the wild lands and fierce enemies he encounters as he searches for the illusive Rock. If he succeeds, he will live a life of honor; if he fails, he will live a life of menial labor in shame. With more twists and turns than a labyrinth, and a story in which nothing is as it seems, this tale of deception and discovery keeps readers in suspense until the end. Middle readers will find that The Rock of Ivanore fits nicely among the traditional fantasies they so enjoy. They will also appreciate its fresh and inventive take on the genre.

Are you Mom Enough? My Thought
This seems to be the big topic the last few days. And today Time hit the news stands.
So as mom's we ALL try to answer this question daily. And for all the moms I know, they ARE MOM ENOUGH.
Every mom is different. Every child is different. My kids are like night and day. My daughter I nursed until 15 months, my son until 7 months. My daughter started solids just fine at 6ish months, and my son was almost a year before he took to solids. My daughter was NEVER in a baby carrier, my son was in all the time and still is, at 20 months. I used disposable diapers on my daughter and I use cloth on my son.
For each of my kids I AM MOM ENOUGH. They are not the same and they needed different things.
Now this article again tries to put that wedge between MOMS, and that is SUCH a shame. Moms have some of the hardest jobs, and the media can make it harder on us. There is the debate of stay at home and working, breast and formula, and everything else. And this just make it harder on moms.
Do we not already feel bad enough at times on our own, that we couldn't do something for our kids. I know I have. But I WILL NOT allow this to make me feel bad. I know that over all I AM THE BEST MOM. And to top it off, My daughter tells me DAILY that I am the best mom in the world. So I KNOW I am MOM ENOUGH.
As Moms we need to unite together. Not be driven apart by society even more
And Really did they have to put this out NOW in time for Mother's Day. Hopefully all the dad's and kids out their do something EXTRA Special for their Mom's to make them know they ARE MOM ENOUGH.

Monday..... yet Again
Tonight though we headed to the library. It was Princesses and Princes story time. My kids love story time at the library. Tonight was more special as we had our 2 towns queens reading stories.
Now they are snuggled up in their beds having sweet dreams. Tomorrow we are hoping it will be nice out so we can play outside.
Kings and Queens

Seventeen-year-old Majesty Alistair wants police to look further into her father’s fatal car wreck, hopes the baseball team she manages can reclaim the state crown, aches for Derek…or, no…maybe Alec…maybe. And she mostly wishes to retract the hateful words she said to her dad right before slamming the door in his face, only to never see him again.
All her desires get sidelined, though, when she overhears two fellow students planning a church massacre. She doubts cops will follow up on her tip since they’re sick of her coming around with notions of possible crimes-in-the-works. And it’s not like she cries wolf. Not really. They’d be freaked too, but they’re not the ones suffering from bloody dreams that hint at disaster like some crazy, street guy forecasting the Apocalypse.
So, she does what any habitual winner with zero cred would do…try to I.D. the nutjobs before they act. But, when their agenda turns out to be far bigger than she ever assumed, and even friends start looking suspect, the truth and her actions threaten to haunt her forever, especially since she’s left with blood on her hands, the blood of someone she loves.
Praise for Kings & Queens:
"I think the best way for me to describe the book is quirky. "Beautifully unique" would be another term I'd use. I just.. I love this book. Each character, especially Majesty, was like a 20-Layer Cake. The book was both character-driven and plot-driven, which promises to be an exciting ride for every type of YA reader."
~Missy from Missy's Reads & Reviews
"WOW. The description for this book on GoodReads.com does not do this book justice. This was an AWESOME, twisted, capturing tale. Like Gossip Girl with deadly consequences."
~Teresa Rice from The Duchess Mommy Reads
"Best YA Book I've read all year...out of 79 books."
~Jennifer Golub from Waiting on Sunday to Drown
"I don't think I've ever read a book like this one. A whirlpool of humor, bravery, slowly spreading horror, friendship, wrenching sadness, volatile emotion, barely contained passions: the literary equivalent of crystal meth. I hit a certain point, where the action and confusion and mystery were at their peak, that I narrowed my eyes and said, "All right, that's it! I refuse to put this book down until I know who is who, what this is really all about, how this fevered chase is going to end!" And I didn't put it down until I read the last word. Which was sometime in the very early morning. I passed out and re-awoke with a Kings&Queens hangover."
~ Lily Odell
"Courtney Vail thrills and shocks in her debut YA suspense, Kings & Queens. I really enjoyed reading this mystery because it reminded me of one of my favorite detective TV shows, Veronica Mars. The authentic high school drama and conspiracies were warped and utterly original."
~Candace @ Lovey Dovey Books
