Here is the alternative. You just go into the toys or even the kitchen and you find a random supply of items.
As You can see we have a big variety. We have the wipe containers, some pans from the kids sets. A few tins, they make more of the cymbol sounds. And then you get straws for the drum sticks. The straws do work great as well.
This is set up for 2 kids to play. One has an orange set, and one has a green set. Now they don't fight about it. I put a child on each side.
And when you are done with the drum set, it's easy to put away and go onto playing something else. Tomorrow when they want to drum, it's easy to set up.
The imagination and possibilities are endless when you just look around what you already own.

When my girls were a few years younger we would make drums out of everything too. It was so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Christmas cookie tin that our son decided is perfect for a drum. -_-
ReplyDeleteYou are right. Pots and pans are WAY to loud. Even plastic is kind of loud. I like the idea of using straws. I'm going to have to try that one out.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool way to reuse basic things and create music and memories! Love it!
