Every year at the holiday season how much money do you end up spending. What if you had it all in cash and knew exactly how much you had to spend. And then what if you worked the year to save it. not much money, but enough to notice a savings at the end.
WELL, you can. Take the 52 week money challenge. There are a LOT of options with the money at the end of the year. Their is the holiday gifts. Then you can also save it. Or maybe spend on a weekend away.

I posted this on my Facebook page and had some great ideas about it.
Some people stated they would do it, others, said both them and their husband would do it. So that is twice the amount at the end of the year. And others said they would try to save for their kids as well. Someone also suggested at week 20, you can put into a savings account, since that is when you will have $200. Then you can earn some interest.
I know I am going to do this. We use cash for everything as it is. It will be nice to have the end amount in an account come the holidays.

Amazing how much money you can accumulate if you do that from January on!! Cool idea!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it it would work to go backward. January is usually less expensive for me than December so if I started with the 52 and then by December only had to deposit $1, wonder if that would work too?
ReplyDeleteI am sure you would have the same amount, as this isn't showing any interest. If you did it backwards like that though, at the end of Jan you would have enough to open a savings account and start drawing interest on it. Though I would think interest would only be 50 cents to a $1
ReplyDeleteThis is a really neat idea. It would be great to have enough money saved ahead of time for Christmas! Very cool. I would love to give this a try. Thank-you for sharing this Interesting method of saving for Christmas!
ReplyDeletetooo cool idea, thanks for the tips, i am going to do something like this. thanks again
