My Journey: Pros and Cons of Weight Loss


There are pros and cons to weight loss.  I am sure you are trying to come up with the cons.  But yes their are.  Maybe you already have a list and that's what's keeping you from trying.

I am going to list some of the things I see.  I would love some of your input as well.  How did you get a pro or con and make it work for you.

The PROS of weight loss:
You look better.
You probably feel better about yourself
Most people are able to go off drugs for diabetes, high blood pressure and other problems.
You can show off your body at the beach.
You have more energy
You are HOT in those skinny jeans.
Your confidence is built up.
You get to go shopping for a new wardrobe

The CONS of weight loss:
You have to watch the size of the portions you eat
You have to BUY a new wardrobe
Eating out can't happen as often as you were going out.

  1. You forgot to mention one other Con of weight loss: Saggy skin. I went from 209 to 145 (I'm 5'10) and I hate the way my skin feels. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I look good in my clothes, I just hate the way I look when I take them off.

  2. Another pro of weight loss is being a good role model for your kids. I think they would be the biggest drive to get healthy. There are just so many things that are hard to do with the extra weight, activities and such.

  3. my pros for losing weight is...Look Good, Feel Good, develop good eating habits, and I'm healthier than when I was a couple sizes bigger. My cons for losing weight are... First one would be having to start an exercise routine, and actually getting started, I have to watch the sweets and sugars I eat. and I guess waiting to see results, because we all know it's not an over night thing. It takes months of hard work and fighting your sweet craving. Before you actually see any change. Thanks for sharing your progress with us. Keep up the good work
